Some rant-ish responses to the excuse people have for Gamefreak deciding to only have certain pokemon in each generation game from now on

"Quicker for development": It's a 100+ people team that has a budget of millions of dollars, had years to make it and already had most of the work for implementing mechanics and graphics already done. By this logic then they shouldn't have added or add new pokémon at all

"Quality over content": The entire point of Pokémon is the pokémon, it's like wanting a Mario game with less platforming sections, and again, everything said above

"Better for balance": Then you might as well not allow people to transfer pokémon from old games, not have online or not bother creating yet another battle gimmick in the first place. By this logic then they shouldn't have added or add new pokémon at all

"The gameplay will be better": it's literally "I don't like {thing}, therefore no one else should have it", how I choose and like playing a game I bought is my own business

"You'd not catch all anyway": please refer to the one before
